We read that Ecuador was having protests, road blocks and some crime due to the price of gas and groceries. We have heard since being in Panama the same things are happening in Central America. We also heard that overlanders trying to cross borders are getting stuck on the road due to the road blocks and protests. God is Good, we have not run into any of this!
Clarence and I decided that we are going to ship the car from Panama to Lima Peru to start our adventure in South America. We will visit Columbia and possibly Ecuador on our way back north after we go to Antarctica.
We found Alejandro at Overland Embassy here in Panama City. He is an overlander and his business is shipping vehicles around the world. So Alejandro got everything set up for our car to be put in a container and shipped around Aug 4th. We rented a 1 bedroom condo in Panama Pacific just on the other side of the Panama Canal. We will be here until Aug 7th when we will fly to Lima Peru to stay until car arrives. It is really nice to have a nice place to call home for a month. We are out an about doing errands, going to the dentist for annual check up next week, getting organized, eating at some cool restaurants and cooking up the food we have with us.
Clarence and I are safe and enjoying our adventure!
