Cruise the Panama Canal

After 2 months of traveling it was time for a cut and color. I wasn't real happy with how short my hair cut was but as time has gone by I am sorta liking it.

Yesterday we took a 1/2 day cruise down the Panama Canal. They bused us up the river about 45 mins from the Pacific side to catch the boat and come down through the 3 locks on the pacific side. Very interesting to see this engineering marvel.

We were on a very small ship compared to the huge ships we passed by or shared a lock with.
Going through 3 locks we shared it with a oil tanker. There was a cargo ship that could not fit in the lock with us so it was in the lock next to us. They built a new lock for the very large ships and cruise ships that were not able to do the canal 4 years ago. We saw a liquid natural gas ship and a very long oil tanker in the new lock. When we got back to the Pacific Ocean side there were at least 30 ships waiting their turn to go through the canal. The canal operates 7 days a week/24 hours.
