Our last meal in San Cristobal was enjoyed at Belil. The food in the State of Chiapas represents the fusion of the social history of the original people of Mesoamerica and the cultures of Spain and Guatemala plus other countries. We found out that this area belonged to Guatemala until 1528. The cuisine of San Cristobal is stuffed chilies in saffron sauce, mole or roasted pigtail, bread soup, chipilin cream, sausages and cold meats in addition to local drinks with chia and pozol. The owner, Ricardo, spoke English and told us the history of this area and the food. It was a very delicious last meal in this city.
