Celebrating Father's Day in San Salvador, El Salvador

June 18, 2022 We arrived in El Salvador yesterday. Currently in San Salvador. San Salvador is a large metropolitan city. Going to a hot springs park to relax for the day. Tomorrow we have a couple of things to do - laundry, take car and check brakes and check a sensor and check into liability insurance for car.

Our US car insurance does not protect our car outside of the United States. You have to find civil liability insurance for foreign cars in each country. This is not easy! We did figure out it is not called "car insurance", they call it "civil liability" insurance. We have search the internet, talked to other overlanders, met a man selling insurance while we were getting the brakes checked (he sells life insurance so that did not help but he gave us a name of a insurance company to try), visited this insurance company, they inspected the car then said they could not insure as it was a foreign car. We gave up on getting civil liability insurance in El Salvador and we pray we will not get into an accident and we will self insure.

It is also Father's Day. Happy Father’s Day to my love, my son Steve Eddy, my Grandson Joshua Harrington. Love you all!

For Father’s Day we enjoyed seafood. We tried a fresh clam that we had never heard of. The clam is shucked just like oysters. You squirt fresh lime on them and if the "move" it is good to eat and enjoy. Very very different. Also had 4 types of Washimi which was excellent! Do not need to try those clams again!
